Miscarriage of Justice
The chamber fell
silent as a waiting room
that pregnant pause
Before the fateful
news...
We sat with baited breath,
awaiting confirmation
of what we already knew
yet hoping for a miracle...
a heartbeat, a chance
to give birth...to that ideal
for which we stand.
Alas ...
it was not meant to be.
Justice was miscarried
by a body in self-preservation
Concerned only with its own
existence.
We mourn the loss
refusing to accept truth...
that our dream was
aborted long ago,
that It hemorrhaged from the shores of promise (conception).
Again
we shed tears
for what could have been...
that freedom not delivered
that flicker of hope
We call “America.”

Reflections on the United States Senate refusing to provide a fair and just impeachment trail of the 45th president Trump by calling witnesses to testify and relevant documents. Instead, the treasonous republican led body voted to not allow either of these standard court elements into the impeachment trial, again choosing party loyalty (to a criminal president) over country (duty to defend the constitution.
