Adam’s contribution

glorified, elevated 

to church and court 

pedestals...

Knowing nothing 

of lunar cycles

Eve’s body 

ebbing, flowing 

tides lapping upon

internal shores

newly synchronized 

with universal waters...

“feminine things”

uncomfortable 

for male egos...

Desperate 

to understand 

He unconsciously 

grasps at (straws)

those familiar bones 

protruding from the core... 

Nostalgic for light 

in this tempting 

darkness...dreams

of Eden, a longing 

to lead the way...

(Naively) forgetting 

She is 

the only way 

home.

*Response to the legislating of women’s bodies, and specifically the newest story out of Tennessee where a State Representative (white male) challenged a bill eliminating the sales tax on tampons (implying women would hoard them.)
