Mama Mary
Did you scream
In agony
Over your murdered son,
Sacrificed
In the name of
Government control,
His story already
Rewritten
By the powerful...
Were primal
moans emanating
From Deep within
Your body,
Painful Laboring
Reminiscent of the night
he was Birthed...
Were you Permitted
to hold his dark, tortured Face
(clean) his blood soaked flesh,
kiss him lovingly goodbye...
Smell his nape,
No longer sweet with innocence
But pungent with earthy
Injustice....
Were your cries
Heard, witnessed
A mother pleading,
For mercy,
Silence never an option...
Knowing full well
Everything
held against him
For daring
to breathe
free
